The most recent meeting between Argentina and Mexico dates back to Qatar 2022, in the memorable 2-0 victory in Group C with goals from Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernández, a key result after the defeat in the opening match against Saudi Arabia.
As for Honduras, the last record is a preparation friendly for that World Cup, a match that was won quite convincingly 3-0 with goals from Lautaro Martínez and Messi himself, who scored twice.
In addition to the friendlies, Tapia referred to the pending Finalissima against Spain, which has not yet been confirmed: "We are waiting for the decision for March, whether to play the Finalissima or not. We have the possibility to play it and we have the obligation to win one more title."
Finally, he highlighted La Roja's great level: "Spain is one of the most competitive national teams in the world, without a doubt, it is among the top four."
On the eve of the tour that the Argentina National Team will carry out in October in United States, Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia confirmed part of the friendly match schedule that Lionel Scaloni's team will have in the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup.
"Although the March date is still missing, the friendlies before the June World Cup with Mexico and Honduras are confirmed. The stadiums still need to be determined," he told Diario Olé.
Meanwhile, the head of AFA especially highlighted the match against La Tri: "It will be a great test because, without a doubt, these are always good matches. It will take place 15 days before the start of the competition as a final preparation."
