A mother was shot to death in front of her 15-year-old son during a robbery in Villa Luzuriaga, La Matanza district. The crime occurred on Thursday and was quickly solved thanks to the work of prosecutor Adrián Arribas and the Buenos Aires Police.
The lead that led to the first arrest
The victim, identified as Rita Mabel Suárez, 47 years old, was approached by three criminals while she was driving her Renault Sandero. The attack was direct: they shot her without saying a word and fled, leaving the teenager as the only witness.
Her son immediately called for help and the woman was taken to Cruz Celeste Clinic in San Justo, where she died minutes later.
The investigation accelerated when a key video was found in a Chinese supermarket located six blocks from the scene. There, the three suspects bought a bottle of water after the crime. One of them paid with a virtual wallet in his name, leaving a direct trail.

Raids and arrest in Rafael Castillo
The information allowed the prosecutor's office and the Buenos Aires Police to set up an operation on Vernet Street, in Rafael Castillo. With helicopters and personnel on the ground, they stormed the indicated house. A minor tried to escape over the rooftops.
At the scene, Alex Muñoz, 19 years old, was arrested, who was wearing the same clothes that, according to investigators, he wore during the robbery. A Bersa .380 caliber pistol with eight bullets in the magazine and another fifty Magtech brand rounds were seized from him.
The minor who bought the water, 17 years old, was identified by RENAPER and the case was transferred to Juvenile Responsibility Prosecutor's Office No. 1. Muñoz's questioning is expected in the coming hours; meanwhile, two accomplices remain at large.
The seized pistol will be subjected to ballistic tests to determine if it was the weapon used to kill Rita Mabel Suárez.
