Osvaldo Jaldo questioned the strike called by the labor federation in rejection of the labor reform

Amid the ratification of the general strike called by the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) for the day when labor reform will be debated in the Chamber of Deputies, a Peronist governor distanced himself from the labor movement and questioned the effectiveness of the measure.
This is about Osvaldo Jaldo, governor of Tucumán, who publicly questioned the decision to paralyze the country for 24 hours. "I respect the CGT's decision, but after the strike what? Nothing, we remain the same", he stated this Wednesday during a press conference.
The governor's statements came after CGT triumvir Jorge Sola confirmed that the labor federation will carry out a national strike without mobilization when the labor reform promoted by Javier Milei's government is discussed.

Jaldo maintained that this type of measure tends to generate more harm than solutions, especially in a complex economic context. "We have to be very cautious. We are in an Argentina that has many problems. We, the districts in the interior, are facing many difficulties and authorities have to be very responsible with the measures that are taken", he stated.
In that sense, he warned that general strikes directly affect the productive and commercial structure of the provinces. According to what he pointed out, the impact is even greater in the interior of the country, where activity depends to a large extent on the daily movement of workers and consumers.
He also focused on the adherence of transportation unions, emphasizing that "people, no matter how willing they are to go to work, can't do it" if there are no buses, trains, or services operating.
