Pipi Romagnoli spoke about San Lorenzo's current situation: 'It makes me sad'

The blaugrana idol spoke about the club's economic and political crisis, highlighted the role of the youth players, and expressed his desire for the institution to achieve stability

Leandro Romagnoli, one of the greatest legends in the history of San Lorenzo and current head coach of San Martín de San Juan, once again addressed the delicate situation of the Ciclón. With a message full of emotion, "Pipi" acknowledged the sadness he feels seeing the club in crisis, although he expressed hope for a recovery.

"Bitterness, sadness, because I belong to the club, I was born there, I'm a fan, and seeing it today with everything that's happening... A club as big as San Lorenzo makes you feel that sadness. But I feel that things will get back on track, because they have to," he said.

Romagnoli distinguished between the football and institutional aspects. "In football, I see it improving, because the numbers and the current situation show it. I see it struggling institutionally, economically, as there is always some new story: about the embargo, about how much is owed," he pointed out.

With experience both on and off the field, the former coach warned that management alone is not enough without financial backing: "When the financial side overwhelms you, it's difficult. You can manage, but if you don't have money, you don't have it. When you do have it, you have to manage it well, know how to spend, not go overboard."

He also emphasized the importance of strengthening the youth academy. "San Lorenzo has never given the importance it should to its youth players. The club needs to improve facilities, give them priority. Today the squad is full of young players and they are the ones who can help you with one or two sales per year."

Finally, Pipi expressed a wish for hope amid the political and financial conflicts the institution is facing, with Marcelo Moretti's return at the center of the scene. "I hope the club can get back on its feet financially, which for me is the main thing. After that, manage well and give importance to the youth players. That's how growth begins," he concluded.
