Pokémon TCG Pocket: how to play the Sylveon ex deck with Greninja and Giratina
This line-up seeks a balance between offense, control, and acceleration
The Eevee Grove expansion is now available in Pokémon TCG Pocket, bringing with it new competitive strategies led by Eevee's evolutions.
One of the most notable is the Sylveon ex deck, which has established itself as Tier S thanks to a combination of synergies with Greninja and Giratina ex. This deck not only stands out as one of the most effective at the moment, but also offers multiple ways to unbalance the opponent.
An unstoppable trio: Sylveon ex, Greninja, and Giratina ex
The deck's structure is based on three essential Pokémon:
- Sylveon ex, with its Happy Ribbon ability, which allows you to draw key cards to prepare the offense.
- Greninja, with its ability to attack from anywhere on the board thanks to the Water Shuriken attack.
- Giratina ex, which finishes plays with Fractured Space Roar and a powerful attack capable of clearing the opponent's field.

To accelerate evolution, Rare Candies are used, allowing Greninja to be active in the early turns and begin weakening the opponent strategically.
Sylveon ex Tier S deck card list
- 2x Froakie
- 2x Greninja
- 2x Eevee
- 2x Sylveon ex
- 1x Giratina ex
- 3x Giant Cape
- 2x Helio (Cyrus)
- 2x Rare Candy
- 2x Poké Ball
- 2x Professor's Research (Professor Oak)
This composition seeks a balance between offense, control, and acceleration. While Sylveon ex serves as support, Greninja distributes damage across the board, and Giratina ex finishes off before the opponent has time to react.
How to use this deck effectively

From the start of the match, the goal is to quickly evolve Greninja using Rare Candy, activating its distributed damage abilities to slowly weaken the opposing team. At the same time, Giratina ex is prepared on the bench to finish off enemies once their health has dropped below 130 HP.
Helio (Cyrus) plays a key role, blocking the opponent's retreat attempts and forcing weakened Pokémon to remain exposed. Sylveon ex, instead of taking a leading role in the attack, facilitates the draw engine, ensuring consistency in plays.
A competitive deck with a future
While there are other competitive variants, such as those based on Flareon ex, Charizard ex, or combinations with Silvally, this version focused on Sylveon ex, Greninja, and Giratina ex stands out for its solidity and versatility in different matchups.
