The deck is designed to maintain control throughout the entire game
With the recent release of the Celestial Guardians expansion in Pokémon TCG Pocket, the competitive landscape of the game has changed drastically. The incorporation of key cards like Rare Candy and Oricorio forced a reevaluation of strategies and adaptation to new dynamics.
In this context, a single deck emerged that managed to consolidate itself at the top of the ranking: the Giratina ex deck combined with Darkrai ex, which is currently considered the only Tier S in the entire game.
The Giratina ex – Darkrai ex duo
This deck is built on a powerful synergy between Giratina ex and Darkrai ex, two Pokémon whose abilities complement each other ideally to dominate the field without needing to be constantly active. One of the central axes of this deck is Darkrai's Nightmare Aura ability, which deals 20 damage points simply by attaching an energy to it. Additionally, this Pokémon can accumulate extra energies turn by turn, making it a constant threat.
Although both are Pokémon ex—which implies certain limitations—the combination of Giant Cape and Rocky Helmet makes them extremely resilient. This latter tool, in particular, allows them to reduce 20 HP from the opponent each time they receive an attack, something that even hinders aggressive cards like Oricorio.

Strategy and competitive performance
The deck is designed to maintain control throughout the entire match. If your strikers are weakened, cards like Pokémon Center Lady and Potion allow for their recovery. In case repositioning is needed, Leaf offers a strategic exit. Additionally, the supporter Red boosts damage against rival Pokémon ex, further strengthening your offense.
With these resources, this deck positioned itself as the only Tier S strategy after the metagame shake-up caused by Celestial Guardians. It is a solid, versatile option ready to face any competitive challenge.
