Poker Night at the Inventory will officially return with a remastered version next March 5. The title will be available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam. The re-release is handled by Skunkape Games, a studio formed by former members of Telltale Games, which completely modernized this cult classic originally released in 2010.
The project seeks to adapt the game to current platforms without losing the humor and the identity that turned it into a unique experience within Telltale's catalog.
The return of an experiment that became a cult classic
When Poker Night at the Inventory was released in 2010, it was an experimental gamble. Telltale Games decided to bring together characters from different franchises in an informal poker game, with constant dialogue and situations full of humor.

The cast included Max from Sam & Max, Strong Bad from Homestar Runner, Tycho from the Penny Arcade webcomic, and Heavy, one of the most recognizable characters from Team Fortress 2. This unusual combination managed to capture a loyal community, although the game never had a massive distribution.
In 2019, the title was removed from digital stores, which prevented new players from accessing it for several years.
Skunkape Games and a complete remaster
In 2020, former Telltale Games developers founded Skunkape Games with the goal of recovering classic projects from the original studio. After re-releasing the Sam & Max trilogy, the team decided to move forward with Poker Night at the Inventory.
The remaster includes a complete overhaul of character models, more detailed environments, new animations, and an updated lighting system. These technical improvements aim to meet current standards without altering the game's relaxed and humorous tone.
Exclusive rewards for Team Fortress 2
One of the main attractions of the return is the possibility of once again unlocking exclusive items for Team Fortress 2. By defeating rivals under certain conditions, players will be able to obtain items that are highly valued by the community.
Among them are the Iron Curtain, the Enthusiast's Timepiece, the Crimestomper Combo, and the classic Dangeresque Shades. After the disappearance of the original game, these items had become true digital relics.
Customization and unlockable content

The remastered version will also allow players to unlock and customize poker tables and decks, with designs inspired by each character's universe. This feature expands replayability and adds options for both veteran players and those who discover the title for the first time.
The relevance of remasters in the industry
The re-release of Poker Night at the Inventory is part of a growing trend within the industry. More and more studios are choosing to remaster retired classics, driven by nostalgia and the demand for legal access to historic titles.
In this case, the proposal goes beyond a visual upgrade. The arrival of the game on current consoles and its technical update reinforce the relevance of creative collaborations and the characteristic humor that defined Telltale Games' golden age.
