The Polish government issued a strong warning to its citizens, urging them to leave the country led by Lukashenko immediately

This Thursday, the Embassy of Poland in Minsk issued an urgent warning to its citizens in Belarus, urging them to leave the country immediately due to the deteriorating security situation in the region.
The alert emphasizes that, in the event of a possible border closure or unforeseen circumstances, an evacuation could become extremely difficult or even impossible.
This warning comes in a context of growing tensions between NATO and Russia, driven by the war in Ukraine and recent incidents of Russian aircraft violating the airspace of several European countries.
During the past month, Russian drones and military aircraft have crossed the airspace of Poland, Romania, Estonia, Denmark, and, more recently, Hungary.
One of the most serious incidents occurred on September 19, when Estonia accused Russia of violating its airspace with three MiG-31 fighter jets that remained within Estonian airspace for 12 minutes.

On September 25, it was reported that Hungarian fighter jets intercepted five Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea. In response, European diplomats warned Russia that future airspace violations could trigger reprisals from NATO, including the possibility of shooting down Russian planes.
Belarus, although not directly involved in the war in Ukraine, has played a crucial role by allowing its territory to be used by Russian forces, especially in the early stages of the conflict when Russia attempted to capture Kyiv from the north.
In recent weeks, Belarus has also hosted Russian troops during the joint military maneuvers "Zapad-2025," which have further heightened tensions with neighboring countries, especially Poland.
Poland's concern is also motivated by the arbitrary detention of Polish citizens in Belarus, a phenomenon that Warsaw has repeatedly denounced.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland recommended avoiding any travel to Belarus and asked citizens who are still there to leave the country using available commercial or private means.
Despite these warnings, the Polish government lifted the border closure on September 24 that had previously been imposed during the military exercises. However, Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned that the reopening doesn't mean a permanent relaxation. "If the tension or aggressive behavior of our neighbors increases, we won't hesitate to close the border crossings again," he stated.
Meanwhile, there has been a hardening of political rhetoric in Poland. After the incursion of a Russian drone into Polish territory on September 10, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski, expressed his support for possible military action against Russian aircraft.
In response to a comment by President Donald Trump, who suggested that NATO allies should shoot down Russian planes that violate their airspace, Sikorski wrote on social media: "Understood."
