Portable PS6: leaks reveal power, dock, and launch alongside the console
Sony is preparing a portable PS6 with a dock, AMD hardware, and more power than the PS5 in docked mode
Sony could be developing a portable PlayStation 6 that could connect to a TV, similar to the Nintendo Switch. According to Moore's Law Is Dead, the console will offer more power than the PS5 when used in docked mode.
This console is expected to arrive alongside the desktop version of the PS6 and feature AMD hardware, maintaining compatibility with Sony's strategy of strengthening backward compatibility.

Technical details of the portable PS6
In portable mode, the console would integrate an APU with four Zen 6c cores, two extra cores for system tasks, and an RDNA 5 GPU with 16 CUs at 1.2 GHz. When docked, the GPU could reach up to 1.65 GHz, surpassing the performance of the original PS5.
This would be Sony's first native portable console since the PS Vita in 2011. Unlike the PlayStation Portal from 2023, which only allows remote play, the portable PS6 would run titles independently.
Estimated launch and price
Leaked documents indicate that the portable PS6 could arrive at the end of 2027 with an approximate price of 500 dollars. For now, Sony hasn't officially confirmed any of these details.

The alliance with AMD continues
According to Reuters, AMD remains responsible for the PS6 chip, continuing the collaboration started with the PS5 and PS5 Pro. The company aims to offer a powerful, backward-compatible, and more accessible system than the PS5 Pro.
