Radical mayors once again servilely submit to the PJ and support Schiaretti
More than one hundred non-officialist mayors are participating in the event and are strengthening local Peronism's control over the municipalities
Radical mayors once again show themselves to be docile in the face of Peronism and decide to support Juan Schiaretti without hesitation in the midst of the electoral campaign. The photo that Governor Martín Llaryora will display with more than one hundred non-Peronist mayors confirms radical servility before provincial power. The ruling party once again demonstrates its skill in seducing and appropriating "opponents" when it needs them most.
The leadership crisis in the UCR, marked by the eternal dispute between Mestre and de Loredo, opened the door to a landing in the PJ. Meanwhile, Schiaretti takes advantage of the radical fracture to continue building his national coalition with Provincias Unidas and reinforce his "moderate" profile. None of this would be possible without the capitulation of mayors who, with extreme pragmatism and servility, change sides according to their convenience.
The formal excuse these leaders use is the regional alliance with Maximiliano Pullaro, but the reality is more down-to-earth and harsh. The municipalities are underfunded due to the proper national adjustment, and the province appears as the only available source of funds. Instead of maintaining autonomy and dignity, radical mayors choose to submit to whoever guarantees immediate resources.

Rudderless radicalism at the service of the PJ
Governor Martín Llaryora repeats that "it's possible to work together regardless of political affiliation," but the phrase conceals a constant submission. Schiaretti will show gratitude, urge continued support, and display the umpteenth photo of radicals abandoning their banners. What is celebrated as unity is nothing more than a party's renunciation of its own historical principles.
Minister Manuel Calvo and Orlando Arduh were responsible for gathering the mayors who signed on with Provincias Unidas. More than 90 municipal leaders are already aligned with the ruling party, under the pretext of supporting a "centrist space". In truth, what they did was once again yield to the Peronist logic of swallowing up opponents through resources and favors.
Radicalism presents itself as a predictable partner of the PJ, incapable of building a serious alternative for the province or the country. Meanwhile, Schiaretti uses that weakness to strengthen his coalition, always at the expense of a radicalism without dignity. The result is a scenario where the ruling party gains power and the false opposition bleeds out in sterile internal conflicts.

Radical functionality in the face of Peronist advance
Within Peronism, they celebrate that even Mestre's list can serve their objectives, "weakening" Libertad Avanza. The calculation is clear: divide the opposition vote and ensure that Schiaretti leads the victory in the midterm legislative elections. Radicalism, without resistance or the possibility of competition, lends itself as a perfect ally for that electoral maneuver.
What is presented as pragmatism is, in reality, a humiliating dependence on the provincial apparatus that finances and conditions. Without national contributions, the municipalities are trapped in the unequal relationship with Llaryora and Schiaretti, to whom they must be grateful for every peso. The price of that relationship is the open renunciation of any idea of political independence.
Today's scene in Córdoba will be nothing more than the confirmation of a historical pattern: radicals comfortably settled in the arms of Peronism. That "opposition contribution" to the ranks of the ruling party doesn't respond to convictions, but to the need to survive in the current situation. For this reason, radicalism once again becomes what it knows best: a docile instrument of Peronist power.
