The Argentine automotive market closed 2025 with more than positive figures. With more than 612,000 registered cars, sales showed a strong recovery.
The final boost came in December, a month that confirmed the upward trend and made it possible to close the year with year-on-year growth that excites the sector looking ahead to 2026.

How sales performed in December
During December, 23,997 units were registered, which represented an increase of 10.3% compared with the same month in 2024. At that time, 21,761 vehicles had been recorded.
In relation to November, the figure showed a drop of 32.3%, since the previous month had closed with 35,424 registrations. Even so, the annual balance was clearly positive.
A historic 2025 for the automotive market
According to data from the Association of Automotive Dealers of the Argentine Republic (ACARA), the year ended with 612,178 units sold. This implies a jump of 47.8% compared with 2024, when 414,211 vehicles had been registered.

With this outlook, the sector is already projecting an even better 2026. Estimates suggest that 700,000 units could be exceeded if the current pace is maintained.
Toyota, the best-selling brand of the year
In the annual brand ranking, Toyota took first place and was the automaker most chosen by Argentines during 2025.

The key role of financing
The president of ACARA, Sebastián Beato, explained the reasons behind the rebound. "The big news was the return of financing, with multiple options from banks and manufacturers", he stated.
"That, together with a broader supply and aggressive promotions, caused competition that strongly boosted sales", the executive added.

In the heavy commercial segment, sales grew by 43%. Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses led the ranking, followed by Iveco and Scania, according to data from ACARA.
