The forward spoke about his frustrated arrival at Xeneize and, after his spell in Bolivia, he assured that he remains prepared to compete at the highest level
Ricardo Centurión returned to the spotlight and did so with an unexpected confession about his career and his connection with Boca. While he is waiting for offers to continue in Argentine soccer, the forward reviewed his frustrated return to the club from La Ribera during the 2020-2021 season and admitted that a bad personal decision left him out.
"Vélez bought me and the first season was with Heinze. The pandemic came and then Chelo Delgado called me to go to Boca. I told him that I was going there on foot because I did not have to prove anything to anyone, I did not have to take a trial", he recalled in his interview on the show Fútbol Continental.
However, the return never materialized. "I told him to call my agent, but at that time they did not talk to managers or agents andI took a chance on my agent, who, because of life circumstances, let go of my hand", he explained.
Centurión no volvió a Boca por su representante
He went even further: "I chose my agent instead of Boca, nobody knew that one. If not, I had to be there, but it was for backing a lifelong friend. Those are pains".
Despite everything, Centurión doesn't hide his identification with Xeneize. "I am a hardcore Boca fan, sick for Boca. When you play there, you love the colors and the institution. I stayed until 3 or 4 in the afternoon treating injuries or drinking mate, I did not want to leave", he stated.
He also referred to his relationship with Juan Román Riquelme: "We always talked, when there was a decisive match I sent him a message. I have now changed my number and I lost it. We did not have a friendship, but we always talked and he was very fond of me. Moreover, I went to his house because of Javi García, who was at Racing, because he wanted to meet me. We played a little soccer game and we had a great time. Talking about soccer with Román is an orgasm".

Centurión has just played eight months for Oriente Petrolero in Bolivia, where he played 31 matches, scored 9 goals, and provided 4 assists, after two years without professional activity. "I went to Bolivia because I felt it was the right time, when one has a child, one thinks differently. It is a test that I passed", he maintained, and he clarified that his priority is to return to the country to be close to his family.
Regarding his future, he left a clear message without demands: "A return to Boca? If it happens, it will happen; if not, it will not. The dream remains intact. I am ready to perform at a high level. If I have to play in B Nacional and earn the right to return to Primera, I will not lose any rings over it. I want to keep finding my place".
