Ciclón rejected Millonarios' proposal for the Colombian defender, but it isn't closing the door on continuing negotiations

River is moving forward in the transfer market with a clear priority:to strengthen the center of defense in light of the departure of Sebastián Boselli and the possible exit of Paulo Díaz. In that scenario, the player targeted by Muñeco Gallardo is Jhohan Romaña, but the talks with San Lorenzo have entered a conflict zone that, for now, is halting any progress.
The negotiations have been going on for several days and, from Boedo, officials have made it clear that the offer submitted doesn't meet expectations. The interim president of Ciclón, Sergio Costantino, was direct when he referred to the big-money interest: "River's offer doesn't satisfy us", he stated, although he clarified that the club's stance is "not to put obstacles in the way if the proposal is suitable for everyone".
Constantino informó que la propuesta de River es insuficiente
River's proposal is around 2.6 million dollars for 50% of the transfer rights of the Colombian center-back. However, at San Lorenzo officials believe that the amount is low and they are maintaining a firm stance:they want five million dollars for 80% of his rights, a difference that currently keeps the parties far from an agreement.
After the latest Board of Directors meeting, Costantino reaffirmed the blaugrana position: "River's offer is public knowledge and it doesn't satisfy us, which is why he is still a San Lorenzo player". At the same time, he acknowledged the player's desire to leave and he said that he spoke with him: "We told him that we will analyze any offer that is suitable for him and for San Lorenzo. We are not going to put obstacles in the way".
A San Lorenzo board member blasted Romaña
The situation added a new source of internal conflict at San Lorenzo. According to journalist Gian Pantano, during the open Board of Directors meeting, Ulises Morales, a board member elected this past December 23, was very harsh when he referred to the Colombian defender: "Romaña is a bad guy. He did everything possible to leave on a free, he clowns around on the field", he fired.

After the commotion caused by his statements, interim president Sergio Costantino tried to lower the temperature. When he was questioned by the press at the end of the meeting, he was categorical: "It is the personal opinion of a member of the Board of Directors", he concluded.
