River received an offer from Fortaleza for Bareiro and would free up a foreign player spot.

The Brazilian club submitted a proposal for 70% of his transfer rights and, if Gallardo approves it, he could leave in this transfer window

Riveris looking to strengthen its squad in this transfer window and, while finalizing details to sign Maximiliano Salas by paying his release clause, is also moving forward with the departure of Adam Bareiro. Fortaleza has submitted a formal offer to acquire 70% of the Paraguayan striker's rightsand only needs approval from Marcelo Gallardo to complete the deal.

Freeing up a foreign player slot is key for the Millonario, something that would speed up the sale of the former San Lorenzo player. However, until the coach gives his approval, the management won't make the decision on its own.

In this regard, Gallardo hasn't considered him for some time. He had already loaned him to Al-Rayyan in Qatar despite the lack of options in the position. Even so, the possible departure of Miguel Borja, currently the only center forward in the squad, keeps Bareiro's transfer on hold.

Although the amounts have not been disclosed, Fortaleza intends to buy 70% of the rights, which would allow River to free up a slot, offload a player without a place and look for a foreigner to strengthen the squad.

The main target is Lucas Cepeda, right winger for Colo-Colo and the Chilean National Team. The 22-year-old player, closely followed by Gallardo, has a release clause of five million dollars, although Cacique would be willing to negotiate a significant percentage of his rights for a lower amount.

The situation of foreign players at River

  • Kevin Castaño: He will stay, is considered key.
  • Miguel Borja: He has six months left on his contract; he could leave now and free up a slot, or depart at the end of the year.
  • Matías Rojas: He has six months remaining; his early departure is not ruled out either.
  • Gonzalo Tapia: River is looking to sell him, loan him out, or include him in another deal.
  • Adam Bareiro: He could be transferred to Fortaleza, although it depends on what happens with Borja.
  • Sebastián Boselli: On loan at Estudiantes for 6 more months; the idea is to sell his rights. If not, he would return in December.

It should be clarified that Paulo Díaz and Giorgio Costantini would also be included in the foreign player quota, however, they have Argentine nationality, so they are listed as domestic players.
