The 69-year-old coach overcame a urinary infection and this Monday will resume leading the squad at the Ezeiza training ground
Miguel Ángel Russo, coach of Boca, has left behind difficult days after being hospitalized for a urinary infection and is now able to return to work with his team. The 69-year-old coach will resume training this Monday at the Ezeiza facility after being discharged from the hospital last Friday.
The coach was hospitalized the previous Tuesday at the Fleni Institute, where routine tests detected a bacterium. After making a favorable recovery, he was able to rest at home over the weekend and now is preparing to return to action.

During his stay at the clinic, Russo was visited by his son Ignacio, Tigre's forward, and by his assistant coach, Claudio Úbeda. He also received messages of support from Guillermo Barros Schelotto, current Vélez coach, and Gustavo Alfaro, Paraguay's coach, among other football figures.
Nevertheless, Russo will have to return to Fleni this Monday for medical check-ups before heading to the Xeneize facility, where he will lead the squad's return to work.
When Boca plays
Xeneize will open a new week of training with its sights set on the 2025 Clausura Tournament, the only title left to compete for this year. Next Sunday, starting at 5:30 p.m., it will visit Rosario Central at the Gigante de Arroyito with the goal of achieving its fourth consecutive victory.

This match will be crucial for Russo's team, as it directly affects both competitions in which it is contending: leadership of Zone A and top spots in the annual standings. In the latter case, Canalla is a direct rival: it is third and tied with the Ribera club in points (45), both just one point behind the leader, which for now is River (46).
