Days before the Galaxy Unpacked, images of the Galaxy G Fold, Samsung's first triple foldable, were leaked. Everything indicates that it will be one of the most striking launches in the brand's history.

The design was discovered within the latest version of One UI 8 and confirms that this model will be very different from the Huawei Mate XT. Its "G"-shaped structure promises a completely new experience.

Samsung anticipated its own surprise

The leaked images accidentally came from Samsung itself. They were found in software animations, which show how the device folds and unfolds.

This confirmed that the Galaxy G Fold will have a triple foldable format, with hinges that close in the same direction, forming a "G".

A completely new design for the market

Galaxy G Fold sets itself apart from the Huawei Mate XT, which has an "S"-shaped structure. Samsung chose an inward opening, creating an experience more similar to a tablet.

When open, one side shows a large screen and the other a combination of panels that include a camera, secondary display, and a protective cover.

How it looks closed and open

  • On the left: the back with three cameras, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
  • In the center: a second screen with smartphone proportions.
  • On the right: an area with no visible function, which serves as a cover for the large screen.

Samsung gives specific usage instructions

One UI animations warn that the device should not be closed from the camera side. It is recommended to fold first from the opposite side.

This is because the hinges have different sizes to protect the screen. It is even expected that the Galaxy G Fold will come with an interactive guide to prevent usage errors.

What is known so far about Galaxy G Fold

  • The name "Galaxy G Fold" is not yet officially confirmed.
  • It is a new attempt by Samsung to expand its foldable line-up.
  • It will share the stage with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 at the next Unpacked.

The device is expected to include premium components, a powerful processor, and stylus support, although this was not confirmed.
