San Lorenzo continues to add chapters to its turbulent institutional life. This Thursday, it was confirmed that Marcelo Moretti paid the 40 million pesos (88,185 pounds) bail required by the courts, which officially allows him to return to the club's presidency. With this step, the executive board of the Members' Assembly is removed as the institution's highest governing body.
The payment takes place in the context of a series of court rulings and internal disputes that have marked recent days in Boedo. After irregularities were determined in the Board of Directors meeting on September 16, where institutional vacancy had been declared, Moretti had to comply with the bail in order to resume his duties. The official notification of the payment arrived in recent hours, clearing the way for his return.
With his return, Moretti will have to call a Board of Directors meeting within the next 15 days. There, it will be evaluated whether the leadership structure will be reorganized or if mass resignations will be repeated, which could generate a new vacancy.
