One of the most emblematic relics of the historic United States Dream Team will go up for auction in the coming days. Scottie Pippen recently announced that he will sell a pair of Air Jordan VII worn by Michael Jordan at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, an iconic piece of the basketball world that could exceed two million dollars.
The sneakers are part of The Scottie Pippen Collection, an auction organized by Sotheby’s that will take place from March 2 to 10 at its headquarters in the Breuer Building in New York. The collection brings together more than fifty objects that trace the career of the six-time NBA champion and, according to estimates by the auction house, the complete lot will exceed 6 million dollars.

The pair of Air Jordan VII corresponds to the Olympic final against Croatia, a game in which Jordan, who wore jersey number 9 in that tournament, sealed another dominant performance by the legendary United States team. Pippen revealed that Jordan himself gave them to him after that game and that they even bear his signature, made in the locker room of the Palau Olímpic de Badalona. "I have spent time with it and I feel ready to let it go and allow others to continue the stories of these pieces," explained the former Chicago Bulls forward.
