The historic Yakuza / Like a Dragon saga celebrated its 20th anniversary since its original release in Japan on December 8, and Sega marked the occasion with a special video. The release reaffirmed Majima's narrative weight within the franchise and opened new storylines for the future.

Sega also confirmed that on February 12, 2026, Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will go on sale. It will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.
