Sewer collapse in downtown Córdoba: families isolated in their own building
A failure in the municipal network caused a severe flood with sewage water at 600 Duarte Quirós
Since Monday night, the residents of a building located at Duarte Quirós 640, in Córdoba Capital, have been experiencing a critical situation. An obstruction in the city's sewage system triggered an overflow of wastewater that completely flooded the building's basement (subsuelo).
In a central and busy area, several families have been left trapped without essential services and with increasing health risks. There is no water or electricity, and the elevators have been deactivated for safety reasons.
As the hours passed, the problem worsened. The building became isolated and the living conditions are deteriorating by the minute. Despite multiple calls and complaints, no municipal authority has come to the site to address the emergency.

Ignored health emergency
The building manager, Beatriz, was the one who detected the problem due to a nauseating odor that invaded the building during the night. "The technician who came confirmed that it's not one of our pipes, it's the Municipality's sewage system that's blocked," she reported. Since then, the basement has remained flooded with wastewater and the building has not received any kind of official assistance.
The situation has become unbearable for those who live there. "Everything that other people throw away is coming in. We're desperate. We shut off the water supply, but the building is already full of sewage water," Beatriz reported.
Despite repeated calls to the Municipality, so far they haven't received assistance, leaving the residents trapped in an unsolved health emergency. Apparently, Passerini has his own waste to deal with.
