Stardew Valley added a new feature to close out the year: its edition for Nintendo Switch 2 is now available, released as a surprise this December 25. The classic indie farming game once again proves its relevance with technical improvements and new features.
The best news for fans is that those who already have the game on the original Switch can access a free update.

An update that arrived without warning
The creator of the game, ConcernedApe, decided to surprise the community with a shadow drop right on Christmas. The version for Switch 2 can now be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop.
For those who did not have it, the price remains affordable: 14.99 dollars. For existing players, the upgrade is downloaded for free.
What improvements Stardew Valley brings on Switch 2
This new edition incorporates mouse-style controls, designed to take advantage of the console's hardware. This significantly improves precision and comfort in farm management.
In addition, it adds online multiplayer for up to eight people and local split-screen co-op for four players, expanding the options for group play.
