The 2025 Martín Fierro Awards delivered memorable moments, but also sparked controversy. One of the most talked-about episodes was Verónica Lozano's reaction upon learning that the award for Best Host went to Susana Giménez, who returned to television with a series of special programs.
In a live interview with A la Tarde (América TV), the diva finally addressed her colleague's remarks and gave a response as forceful as it was true to her style.
"I'm fine, happy. It was a lovely party, we all got together," Susana began in conversation with the show hosted by Karina Mazzocco. When asked about Lozano's criticism, she replied with an ironic smile:"Nah, nothing... what do I know. Everyone deserves it, but I won it."
Far from avoiding the controversy, Susana Giménez elaborated on her defense, highlighting the difference between her career and that of the other nominees: "But no one else has done 36 years of television with 40 rating points. So if they give it to me, it's because I deserve it," she stated bluntly, and then concluded with another cutting phrase: "I truly don't care."
What did Vero Lozano say after losing the award?
The controversy began when Vero Lozano spoke with LAM's live crew after the ceremony. There, the host of Cortá por Lozano expressed her dissatisfaction with the result: "Not specifically me. I think that for Susana to win another award, she had already won one... I think it's a lot, for a show that had few episodes," she said.
Lozano clarified that she was not questioning Giménez's ability as a host, but rather APTRA's criteria for awarding the prizes. In that sense, she argued that "the game needs to be spread out so the ceremony is more interesting and we all leave happier."
Vero also pointed out alleged irregularities in the voting process. She said that several APTRA members told her they had voted for her, while others claimed they had not voted for the actual winners. "There should be an audit," she demanded, referring to David Kavlin's win as best panelist and the rest of the categories.
