Tesla officially confirmed its arrival in Argentina with a video published on its social media. The American company announced that it will start operating in the country on November 20, marking its entry into the local market nearly 23 years after its founding.
The presentation released by Elon Musk's automaker showcases units of the Model 3 and Model Y, two of its main models, which had been photographed and filmed in various locations in Buenos Aires and Patagonia in recent days, and concludes with the message: "Hello Argentina".
The announcement puts an end to the expectations surrounding the brand's arrival in the country and confirms the beginning of a new phase for Tesla in the Argentine market. The company will replicate the commercial scheme it already uses in other countries, with imports of vehicles manufactured in China and direct sales through the internet.
Where Tesla's first location in Argentina will be
Tesla's first exhibition space in the country will be located in Unicenter Shopping, in the Buenos Aires locality of Martínez. There, vehicles will be displayed for potential customers to see, and test drives will also be organized in the shopping center's parking lot.
However, the establishment will not operate as a traditional dealership. The commercial strategy will follow the company's international model: there will be no intermediaries or a network of independent dealers, but operations will be conducted directly with Tesla through its online sales platform.
