'The corgis talk to me': Sarah Ferguson believes Queen Elizabeth II communicates with her

The Duchess of York stated that she feels the presence of her late ex-mother-in-law through her dogs

Since Queen Elizabeth II passed away in September 2022, Sarah Ferguson has stated on various occasions that the bond between them wasn't completely severed. According to the Duchess of York, the monarch remains present in her life,  although in an unusual way: through her corgis,  Muick and Sandy.

Ferguson, who adopted the iconic dogs with her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, claimed that the queen continues to communicate with her through the morning barks of the animals.

"Every morning they come and say: 'Woof, woof!', and I'm sure it's her,"  she recently recounted during a forum on creative women. "It's her way of reminding me that she's still here," she added naturally.

A bond that wasn't broken over time

Despite the divorce between Ferguson and Prince Andrew in 1996,  the Duchess's relationship with Queen Elizabeth II remained close. In fact, Ferguson has stated on more than one occasion that it was an honor to be her daughter-in-law.

During her participation in the aforementioned event, she also recalled a symbolic moment upon seeing the Elizabeth Line, the London Underground line named in honor of the queen. "I said to myself: 'I want everyone to remember how unbelievable she was'," she expressed with emotion.

This emotional bond hasn't ceased, according to Ferguson, as she claims that the inherited corgis act as a spiritual channel between them.

Corgis with supernatural perception

It's not the first time Ferguson has claimed that  Muick and Sandy have a special connection with their former owner. In 2023, she had already commented that the dogs seemed to detect Elizabeth II's presence in Windsor.

In an interview with The Times, she explained that the dogs barked "at nothing," which led her to think that the queen was still walking around the place, "laughing." "And I'm not joking," she emphasized then.

Currently,  the two corgis live with Ferguson and Prince Andrew at the Royal Lodge, a residence located within the Windsor Castle complex. There, the family's Norfolk terriers also reside, although they haven't warmly welcomed the new tenants.

"They're quite upset because the corgis' beds are much nicer. They're blue, the color of royalty," Ferguson commented with laughter. "Clearly, the Norfolks don't believe in the transmigration of souls."

While some listeners celebrated her sense of humor and spirituality, others were skeptical. The truth is that, for Sarah Ferguson, Muick and Sandy's barks are more than just canine sounds: they are echoes of the love and legacy of a queen.
