The context: increases for public employees and residents

The salary update for military personnel is taking place in parallel with other recent measures. This Monday, the Executive Branch made official an increase of 2% for SINEP public sector workers, through decree 37/2026.

In addition, decree 36/2026 ordered the update of salaries for national residents of hospitals under the Ministry of Health and Garrahan Hospital. There were also changes in the leave regime and in the compensation cap for extraordinary services.

With these measures, the Government moved forward with a partial recomposition of public sector salaries, with a special focus on the Armed Forces and the security forces under national jurisdiction.
