Javier Milei's government ordered a transfer of more than 100,000 million pesos to strengthen the volunteer firefighters system throughout the country, in a context marked by the severity of the active fires in Patagonia, which during recent weeks have been at the center of the national agenda.
The measure was formalized during the early hours of this Thursday with the publication in the Official Gazette of Resolution 91/2026 of the Ministry of National Security, the portfolio headed by Alejandra Monteoliva. The regulation establishes a comprehensive financing scheme aimed at reinforcing the operational functioning, training, and institutional structure of volunteer firefighter corps.
In accordance with the provisions, the Volunteer Firefighter Associations, considered first-level entities, will receive a total of $100,810,319,998.50. These funds will be distributed among 1,062 associations throughout the country, which implies an individual allocation of $94,924,971.75 for each one.

According to the resolution, the resources will be allocated to the acquisition of equipment, materials, clothing, wardrobe equipment, and other essential items for firefighting and civil protection tasks. They may also be used for the maintenance of existing operational resources, with the objective of ensuring an adequate response to emergencies.
The financing scheme also includes the second-level entities, corresponding to the provincial federations that group local associations. In this case, they will receive a total of $7,754,639,995.93, an amount that will be distributed according to the number of affiliated entities reported by each federation.
These funds will be used to cover operating expenses, institutional representation tasks, and compliance with legal obligations. In turn, the resolution establishes an additional allocation for the same amount, $7,754,639,995.93, specifically aimed at training programs for volunteer firefighters and institutional directors, in line with the provisions of National Law No. 25,054.
