AFA drew the groups for Primera B Nacional 2026. Through an event led by the nefarious Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia, the pairings for the second division of Argentine soccer were set.
The tournament will use the same format as last season: 36 teams divided into two groups of 18 with two promotions, one through a direct final (between the best of each group) and another through a play-off (from 2nd to 8th in each group + the loser of the direct promotion, which goes to the second phase), and four relegations (2 per group to B Metropolitana or Federal A).
The championship will start on February 7, will feature interzonal matchups on matchday seven (editor’s note: between teams with the same number), and will end its regular season on October 17. In addition, there will be no break for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, and there will only be a two-week pause once the first round ends
