Federal Justice confirmed that the president of Estudiantes de Río Cuarto, Alicio Dagatti, and ten other people were charged in the context of a case for alleged money laundering, tax evasion, and fraud against the national treasury.
The investigation is at an initial stage, with multiple evidentiary measures underway.
Estudiantes (RC) recently won promotion to the First Division of Argentine soccer.

According to the official statement from the Federal Court, the case file originated from a complaint filed by PROCELAC, in which authorities reported the existence of an alleged organized structure dedicated to complex maneuvers for obtaining, transferring, and reconverting funds of allegedly illicit origin, caused in Argentine territory.
In that context, the justice system ordered a total of 40 raids on homes linked to the reported natural and legal persons.
During the procedures, authorities seized automobiles, cash, foreign currency, securities, and a significant amount of documentation, which is considered of interest for the progress of the investigation.
Officials from the Federal Court emphasized that the investigation is conducted entirely by that jurisdiction and that it is in a full preliminary stage, with new evidentiary measures aimed at clarifying the reported events and determining responsibilities.
Who is Alicio Dagatti
Alicio Dagatti, a businessman from Córdoba in the meatpacking sector, arrived at the presidency of Estudiantes de Río Cuarto in 2015.
From that point on, he led a process of sustained growth that took the club from regional tournaments to Primera Nacional and, finally, to the most important leap in its history: promotion to the Professional League.

The feat was achieved this year, after a historic campaign that concluded in Puerto Madryn, with the 1-1 draw against Deportivo Madryn that allowed Iván Delfino's team to prevail 3-1 on aggregate in the series.
However, the image of the executive celebrating on the field contrasts with his legal situation: Dagatti was arrested in December 2024 in a major case that is investigating the entry of drugs, cell phones, and other prohibited items into the Bouwer prison by means of trucks linked to his company (the provincial justice system sentenced the driver Néstor Lucero to five years and four months in prison for transporting narcotics for commercial purposes).
During the process, Lucero stated that the prohibited items were handed to him by Dagatti himself). The hypothesis points to an illicit association that allegedly used meat distribution as a front.
After spending more than eight months in detention, Dagatti regained his freedom in August 2025 on bail (he obtained conditional release with bail set at 500,000 dollars).
In November, the justice system added a new charge for alleged marketing of spoiled meat, derived from the original case file. In addition, the Complex Crimes prosecutor requested that the case be sent to trial with him as the "alleged head of an illicit association," and the Federal Court of Cassation ordered that the case be transferred to the national jurisdiction, which triggered the new raids.
Meanwhile, Dagatti's defense insists on his innocence and demands an oral and public trial.
