According to the Observatorio de la Cadena Láctea Argentina (Ocla), the volume of milk produced this year is 11.975 billion liters, that is 3% more than in 2024.
If this projection is achieved, dairy farms would produce about 358 million liters more than in 2024 and it would chain together the second consecutive year of growth for the activity, achieving the second-largest volume in history, behind the 12 billion liters of 2015.
"The year 2025 begins with an inertial growth effect, good weather conditions in general, and great availability of pastures and forage reserves," OCLA explained.

The year 2024 had production conditions that can be considered optimal and favorable economic aspects at the beginning of the year (average profitability around 4%), which were then diluted, ending the year with prices for primary production that were generally below production costs.
There is an expectation that, given the lower pressure of total supply in the year and during the first months toward the seasonal minimum peak (April), with a slight improvement in domestic consumption and a recovery (at least in part) of international prices, it will be possible to improve the prices received by producers and profitability will return to the positive quadrant (positive marginal contribution that will make it possible to dilute structural costs).
