They recreate Walt Disney as a robot, and fans say he looks like he came out of 'Terminator.'
Disney unveiled a hyper-realistic robot of Walt and caused more controversy than magic among fans and Walt's own family
Disney unveiled a hyper-realistic animatronic of its founder, Walt Disney, in a new biographical show. However, instead of excitement, it caused rejection and bewilderment.
The new show at Disneyland, which was intended to be an emotional tribute, ended up generating discomfort on social media and strong criticism from the community.

A tribute?
The robotic figure is part of the show Walt Disney - A Magical Life, where gestures, movements, and voice of the creator of the Disney empire are recreated using audiovisual archives.
However, many consider it a step too far. On social media, people compared it to a character straight out of Terminator and questioned its face for appearing artificial or unrecognizable.
"Why does it have that face?"
The harshest criticism targets the facial design. On specialized channels such as Capture the Magic, people questioned the robot's aesthetics and compared it unfavorably to the classic animatronic of Abraham Lincoln.

The family did not give approval
Joanna Miller, Walt Disney's granddaughter, had already warned that this type of initiative could be frivolous and dehumanizing. She stated that using his image without family consent crossed ethical boundaries.
The show is presented on the same stage where Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln was performed, which accentuated the comparisons and the sense of disrespect.

An impressive technical achievement?
Some experts highlighted the robot's technical quality. They emphasized details such as blinking, micro-expressions, and the use of real recordings of Walt Disney's voice.
The company described it as its most complex animatronic to date, the result of more than seven years of work.
