They were wearing Edenor uniforms and had tools in their possession that indicated a possible plan to commit theft

A joint operation between the Buenos Aires Police and the San Isidro Municipal Patrol led to the arrest of five men who were traveling in a van without license plates and were wearing uniforms from the company Edenor.
Three of the suspects are Chilean immigrants, who have already received deportation orders from the country from the National Directorate of Migration, thanks to the immigration reform of the Government of Javier Milei. The case occurred on Tuesday in the town of Martínez, in the San Isidro district.
The police intervention began when undercover agents detected a gray Fiat Qubo that caught their attention due to the way it was driving along the Panamericana highway frontage road, near Hipólito Yrigoyen Avenue. When officers intercepted the vehicle, they discovered that its five occupants were wearing Edenor clothing and had in their possession tools that, according to investigators, indicated possible planning to commit robberies.

Among the items found were screwdrivers, crowbars, helmets and work clothes with the electric company's logo, gloves, five cell phones, caps, packing tape, and a grinder cutting disc. According to the initial hypothesis, the detainees might have tried to use the Edenor uniforms to enter homes in the area without arousing suspicion. The case was classified as "investigation of a possible crime" as the judicial investigation progresses.
The detainees were identified as Anthony Isaias Lagos Andia (19), Camilo Antonio Reyes Donoso, and Joel Antonio Martínez Encina (33), all of Chilean nationality, as well as two other citizens of Argentine origin. The immigration review revealed that Lagos Andia had no record of legal entry into the country; Reyes Donoso had entered less than a month ago as a "tourist"; and Martínez Encina had been residing in Argentina since 2019, but with an expired permit.

After the procedure, all five were taken to the 10th police station in Martínez. Meanwhile, the Municipality of San Isidro formally requested the National Directorate of Migration to expel the three foreigners, a request that has already been accepted, although judicial authorization is still pending to carry it out.
On this point, Mayor Ramón Lanús stated: "This is not the first time we've detained Chilean citizens who commit crimes or are about to do so. Migration has already issued the expulsion orders, we're insisting in court for authorization to implement the measures."
