Amid the devastating floods that hit San Antonio de Areco and other areas of the Buenos Aires province, the reporter Giuliana Salguero became embroiled in a major controversy. The journalist was not only criticized for her coverage on TN channel, but also for her aggressive reaction against affected residents who criticized her.
Everything began during a live broadcast on May 17, when Salguero covered the storm from one of the most affected areas. The reporter arrived in a truck, but when she tried to board a boat to show the scene, she was denied access because they were intended to rescue residents.
Hours later, she was seen in a second mobile unit trying to explain the precarious conditions in which they were working. "We are not far from where we started, but the current is taking us," she commented on air, in a tone more focused on her personal experience than on the local tragedy.

After that report, she did not appear live again, raising concerns about her condition. Later, from her Instagram, she posted a statement that she quickly deleted, where she showed wet belongings and launched a complaint: "Who thinks it's fair that I have to pay for this?"
Insults and mockery toward the affected
What ultimately ignited the controversy was her subsequent behavior on social media. On the program LAM (América TV) they exposed screenshots and audios in which the journalist insulted and belittled users who questioned her.
"She started arguing with people who had lost everything," reported Ángel de Brito. Her colleague, Pepe Ochoa, added: "The brawl started because of the mocking tone of her video; then she replied in a derogatory manner."
