In September 2025, the values of traffic fines were updated both in Ciudad de Buenos Aires and in the Province. The increase affects common violations such as speeding, illegal parking, or not wearing a seatbelt.
According to a survey by TN, the new scheme significantly raises the penalties, which now exceed $200,000 in the most serious cases.

How are fines calculated in CABA and PBA?
In CABA, fines are calculated in Fixed Units (UF), which are updated according to the price of a liter of premium gasoline at ACA. In September 2025, each UF is equivalent to $798.51 and will remain so until March 2026.
In the Province of Buenos Aires, the calculation is similar, but the reference is the liter of the highest octane gasoline reported. Each UF is equivalent to $1,606.00.
Most common fine amounts in September 2025
Speeding: from 150 to 1,000 UF in CABA. In PBA, they can exceed $200,000.
Illegal parking: 100 UF in CABA. In the Province, around $20,000.
Not wearing a seatbelt: 100 UF in both districts.
Using a cell phone while driving: more than $30,000 in CABA and PBA.
Driving without VTV: in the Province, it can reach $100,000.

Drivers can check their violations on the official traffic portals of CABA and PBA. There, they can also download the bill, pay online, or go to authorized centers.
