The lawyers of the illegal Salvadoran immigrant Kilmar Ábrego García received a notification from the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that threatens a possible deportation of their client to Uganda next week.
This situation takes place after a Democratic judge released the Salvadoran criminal in the last hours of Friday, allowing him to return to the state of Maryland, where he resides and awaits trial for human trafficking.
ICE authorities proposed the following agreement to Ábrego: accept a plea deal related to the serious charges against him and be deported to Costa Rica, or refuse and face being sent to Uganda. This deportation is possible after Trump reached an agreement with the Ugandan government for it to accept deportees from the United States.

Democrats and their defense of a dangerous criminal.
García is accused of serious federal crimes such as being an active member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang and human trafficking. The government's case is based on an arrest made on November 30, 2022, on a road near the border, when he was apprehended driving a van with nine other people inside, including a 15-year-old minor.
The Salvadoran criminal was quickly defended by left-wing sectors after the Trump administration deported him to his native country, where his lawyers reported that he was receiving threats from gang members. The press and Democratic politicians described him as a family man who had been wrongly deported.
This media and political defense collapsed when Ábrego García's alleged links to gangs were discovered, his supposed inappropriate sexual conduct toward minors, and his involvement in a child trafficking network.

Ábrego García faces 10 years in prison.
An immigration agent stated that as of today the 15-year-old minor García was transporting has not been found. He added that at least six of the nine passengers in the van have been identified as illegal immigrants from various countries, such as Mexico, El Salvador, and Honduras.
If he doesn't accept the government's deal, Ábrego García—who was under federal custody in a Tennessee state prison before being released—faces 10 years in prison for his role in illegal immigrant trafficking.
The United States Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, stated that the judge has shown a "total disregard for the safety of the American people" by releasing the Salvadoran migrant. She added that the government "will continue fighting" for Ábrego to face justice and leave the United States.
