According to alleged documentation that has been revealed, the United States government may have developed a plan to redesign its relationship with the Old Continent

An alleged expanded draft of the National Security Strategy (NSS) of Donald Trump's administration reportedly outlined an ambitious plan to reshape Washington's relationship with Europe, according to Defense One.
The content attributed to this document suggests that the United States seeks to strengthen its influence on the continent through a closer alliance with Austria, Hungary, Italy, and Poland, countries considered more aligned with the Trump administration's strategic approach.
The report allegedly indicated that these four states are partners with whom Washington should work more closely with the goal of distancing them from the harmful political framework of the European Union and bringing them closer to the U.S. sphere.

According to the outlet, the document argued that this realignment would allow support for European movements and figures in favor of preserving the continent's cultural traditions, restoring national sovereignty, and strengthening transatlantic cooperation based on shared ideological foundations.
The proposal would fit with the political vision attributed to Trump of "Make Europe Great Again," which would also seek to revitalize Europe through the strengthening of nation-states and the reduction of dependence on supranational structures.
This approach, they claim, aims to drive European countries toward greater decision-making capacity, especially in the face of challenges such as immigration, economic slowdown, and political instability.
The leaked document also reportedly expanded on the criticisms already present in the official version of the NSS, in which Europe is accused of failing to stop the war in Ukraine and of being trapped in unrealistic expectations maintained by minority governments.

For the Trump administration, the inability of European institutions to respond effectively to these challenges would justify a new model of bilateral cooperation with governments that are more politically aligned.
The White House, however, categorically denied the existence of any alternate or classified version of the report. Deputy spokesperson Anna Kelly stated that "there is no private or expanded document" and that the president signed only a transparent and definitive NSS.
The debate arises at a time when Europe faces growing security pressures. NATO recently warned that the continent must prepare for a conflict scenario similar to that experienced by previous generations and increase its defense investment to deter Russia.
Those who share the Trumpist vision in Europe argue that this proposal would not seek to divide the continent, but rather to strengthen it from its historical and cultural roots. According to that interpretation, a Europe composed of stronger sovereign states strategically aligned with the United States would be better prepared to face current geopolitical challenges.
