The President of the United States emphasized his intention to recover the materials to build the wall that Biden auctioned off
President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday his intention to recover the materials he had ordered during his first term to build the border wall, which his predecessor Joe Biden's administration sold a few years ago.
During a press conference at the Kennedy Center, Trump answered questions about reports indicating that the federal government put a plan in motion to recover the parts of the wall that had been sold. "We're going to recover that wall," predicted the Republican leader.
In fact, Biden himself confirmed that he sold the materials as scrap. In a series of obtained videos, it can be seen that, last December, several sections of the wall that were located in a part of the state of Arizona with high levels of illegal crossings were transported by truck.

The company that bought the wall materials was sued.
Trump described this sale as a waste of valuable resources. "They sold the wall. This is expensive material. Hardened steel, 9,000-pound (4,082-kilogram) concrete, and rebar, which is very costly and difficult to cut. And they sold it for $0.03 or $0.04 for every dollar it cost to build," he said.
The president also highlighted the work of the United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, who has been working on a lawsuit against the company that bought the materials. "I think they reached an agreement, we're recovering the wall," he stated.
During Trump's first term, hundreds of kilometers (miles) of the wall were built and another 200 kilometers (124 miles) were very close to being completed when he left the presidency. It was designed according to the specifications of Border Patrol and ICE and even included a surveillance system.

Trump plans to rebuild the wall with these materials.
The Democratic government auctioned the wall materials through the GovPlanet platform, the government site that auctions off surpluses. Now, however, the Office of the Border Czar, Tom Homan, reached an agreement with the company that had purchased them so that it would return them.
The recovery of these construction materials, according to Trump, is part of a broader plan to continue building the wall during this new Republican administration. He indicated that his administration had already managed to drastically reduce illegal crossings thanks to the wall and that he planned to expand its construction, objectives that were thwarted after the fraudulent Democratic victory in the 2020 elections.
