The president of the United States, Donald Trump, confirmed that U.S. forces carried out an attack against a facility linked to drug trafficking in Venezuela. According to his explanation, the target was a port area used for loading vessels with drugs, in what could mark a turning point in Washington's strategy against the cartels that operate under the protection of the chavista regime.
During a meeting in Florida with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump stated that "there was a big explosion in the dock area where they load the ships with drugs". In that regard, he affirmed that the offensive targeted both vessels and key infrastructure used for illegal trafficking. "That implementation area no longer exists", the president emphasized, with his direct and unsparing style.

The U.S. president did not specify which agency carried out the operation or provide technical details about the attack. However, he recalled that on previous occasions he authorized the CIA to conduct covert operations in Venezuela. Both the White House and the Pentagon avoided making official comments, maintaining the usual secrecy in this type of action.
