Trump will sign a decree to ban mail-in voting and voting machines.

The president announced this morning on Truth Social his intention to sign an executive order of this nature that will take effect for the 2026 elections

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced on Monday that he will soon sign an executive order that will ban mail-in voting and electronic voting machines in the 2026 midterm elections.

"I'm going to lead a movement to eliminate MAIL-IN BALLOTS and also, while we're at it, the highly INACCURATE, very expensive, and seriously controversial voting machines," Trump declared on his Truth Social network.

"WE WILL BEGIN THIS EFFORT, WHICH WILL BE STRONGLY OPPOSED BY DEMOCRATS BECAUSE THEY CHEAT AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE, by signing an EXECUTIVE ORDER to help bring HONESTY to the 2026 midterm elections," the head of state continued.

Democrats encourage mail-in voting.

Although the federal government has some involvement, elections in the United States are largely decentralized and managed by state and local governments. This explains why Democratic politicians have put so much effort into changing municipal and state election laws in recent years.

For example, in March 2021, former President Joe Biden signed an executive order instructing federal agencies to look for ways to encourage mail-in voting, a measure that was harshly criticized by Republicans, since it increases the risk of fraud due to the lack of security under that voting method.

In March of this year, Trump signed another executive order attempting to block states from counting mail-in ballots that were sent before Election Day but arrived after the polls closed. The measure was blocked by a Democratic judge in June, who determined that the executive did not have the authority to impose such a rule. The case is pending before the Supreme Court of the United States.

Not even Putin understands how elections are managed in the U.S.

For the Republican president, "states are simply an agent of the Federal Government to count and tabulate the votes," so "they must do what the Federal Government, represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY."

One of the highlights from the historic summit between the United States and Russia last Friday in Alaska was the Russian president's disbelief regarding the way elections are implemented on American soil.

"Vladimir Putin said something, one of the most interesting things," Trump recounted in a subsequent interview after the summit with Sean Hannity of Fox News. "He said: Your 2020 election was rigged because you have mail-in voting. He said: Mail-in voting, in every election, no country has mail-in voting. It's impossible to have mail-in voting and honest elections."
