The unexpected meeting between Matías Defederico and Daniel Osvaldo

They reunited in a friendly soccer match and received harsh criticism on social media

Matías Defederico and Daniel Osvaldo, two figures recognized both for their sports careers and their tumultuous relationships with Cinthia Fernández and Jimena Barón, respectively, reunited in a friendly soccer match and received harsh criticism on social media for appearing together in a photo.

Former player Matías Defederico shared an image with Osvaldo on his Instagram stories, which quickly caught the attention of users. The snapshot, showing both smiling after a casual sports encounter, was reposted by journalist Ángel de Brito on his X account (formerly Twitter), where comments exploded.

It should be remembered that both athletes were publicly accused by their ex-partners, who accused them of mistreatment and parental abandonment in both cases. Defederico, father of the three daughters he had with model and panelist Cinthia Fernández, faces a long legal battle over ongoing child support debts. Recently, the court ruled in favor of Fernández, granting her the property where she lives with her daughters as compensation for the amounts owed.

Meanwhile, Daniel Osvaldo also keeps a tense relationship with his ex Jimena Barón, mother of his son Momo. The singer publicly accused him of manipulation, psychological violence, and abandonment. She even dedicated several songs to him that recount the pain of that relationship, one of which references the betrayal she felt when he started a romance with her then-friend, Gianinna Maradona.

The sports reunion between Defederico and Osvaldo sparked outrage. "The fathers of the year got together," a user quipped. Other comments were harsher: "Two disgraceful abusers,""The last thing two child support payments see before not being paid," or some that escalated: "United Abusive and Abandoning Fathers Club," they wrote sarcastically.

The publication also reignited old controversies and added names to the conversation that would be in the same legal situation as both. Some users mentioned other celebrities with similar accusations: "Missing Ogro Fabbiani and we're set,""Let Icardi join the club," they wrote, alluding to a supposed "team" of fathers with accusations of failing parental duties.
