The federation's intention is to reach an agreement in the coming weeks to provide stability to the project and begin planning for the upcoming international commitments as soon as possible.
Although the United States did not advance to the final stages of the World Cup it hosted as one of the host countries, the internal evaluation of the process led by Pochettino is favorable.
In US Soccer, they believe that the Argentine coach has made significant progress and that maintaining the continuity of the project could be crucial for consolidating the growth of the national team. The management understands that stability in the coaching staff will allow for the development of a defined football identity and elevate the competitive level of the team.
For this reason, the elimination in the round of 16 would not have changed the decision to bet on Pochettino as the leader of the national team in the coming years.
