Steam Machine, the new hardware from Valve, is once again at the center of the scene after a leak that provides concrete numbers. Although the company hasn't announced official prices yet, an authorized store would already have internal prices defined.
The information reinforces a suspicion that has circulated since its presentation:the new Steam Machine wouldn't be an inexpensive device, but would instead aim to compete directly with mid-to-high-end PCs.

The leak that set off alarms
The information comes from Smarty.cz, a technology retailer in the Czech Republic that appears as an official authorized reseller of Valve. Although the product page doesn't show prices that are visible to the public, these appear hidden in the site's source code.
The Steam Machine model with 512 GB is listed at 19,826 Czech crowns, which is equivalent to about USD 950 before taxes. Meanwhile, the version with a 2 TB SSD rises to 22,305 CZK, around USD 1,070.
Is this the final price that players will pay?
Everything indicates that it is not necessarily so. Since this is an external seller, the prices would include import taxes, fiscal charges, and commercial margins. In fact, different reports indicate that Smarty operates with a margin close to 17% on Valve products.
