Valve once again caused excitement in the gaming community after highlighting the performance of the Steam Machine, its compact PC designed to offer a console-like experience. Its power is positioned between an Xbox Series S and a PlayStation 5.
According to the company's own estimates, this new hardware will be equal to or better than almost 70 percent of the PCs used by Steam users. The goal is clear: achieve a balance between cost, performance and long-term compatibility.

Balanced hardware designed for the majority
Valve engineer Yazan Aldehayyat explained that the Steam Machine is not intended to be the most powerful PC on the market. The idea is to offer an affordable device capable of running most of Steam's catalog without issues.
Aldehayyat emphasized that they relied on the platform's hardware surveys to define the specifications and adjust them to the real uses of players.
Six times more powerful than Steam Deck
Data released by Valve confirms that the Steam Machine will be up to six times more powerful than the Steam Deck. This allows for superior performance without sacrificing efficiency or increasing the product's cost.
