The incident occurred during a show in China and reignited the debate about safety.
Experts in these types of environments often emphasize the importance of establishing clearly defined safety areas for demonstrations.
Physical delimitation of the action zones.
Minimum distance between the robot and the audience.
Continuous supervision by trained operators.
Emergency protocols to stop activity in case of any risk.
A humanoid robot was involved in an incident during a demonstration in Sinkiang, China, by accidentally hitting a boy who was among the audience. The sequence was captured on video and quickly sparked debate about safety measures in such events.
The footage shows the moment when the automaton performs a maneuver and ends up striking the boy in the abdomen with a strong kick, causing him to fall to the ground and express pain after the impact.
According to reports in Chinese media, the robot was part of a presentation organized by the authorities of a tourist park in the region.
During one of the demonstrations, the machine made a movement that reached the boy, who was near the area designated for the show.
The impact caused the boy to fall to the ground while the people present observed the situation.
The boy's mother stated that she filed a complaint with the police following the episode.
Additionally, she questioned the reaction of the park staff and claimed that the employees did not intervene immediately after the accident.
According to her account, that delay was reflected in the images that later circulated on social media and local media.
Although the boy did not suffer serious injuries, the episode once again brought attention to the use of humanoid robots in public spaces.
Currently, these systems are increasingly participating in exhibitions, mass events, shopping centers, and theme parks, where they interact just a few meters away from visitors.
The situation raises questions about the necessary prevention protocols when machines perform physical movements near people, especially children.
