The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Saturday that he is considering transferring Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to airports if Democrats continue to refuse to reach an agreement to finance the Department of Homeland Security.
Trump's threat comes after more than 300 Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers have resigned from their jobs due to lack of funding from the public agency, causing long security queues at airports across the country. Such funding must be approved by Congress in a bipartisan agreement
.
“The democrats of the radical left have hurt so many people with their vicious and carefree ways. What they have done to the Department of Homeland Security, to our fantastic TSA officers and, most importantly, to the great people of our country, is an absolute disgrace. If Democrats don't allow fair and adequate security at our airports, and in other parts of our country, ICE will do the job much better than ever!” , Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

“If radical left democrats don't immediately sign an agreement to let our country, in particular, our airports, be FREE and SAFE again, I will transfer our brilliant and patriotic ICE agents to airports, where they will do security like no one has seen before,
” Trump promised.
ICE's work would include, according to the president, "the immediate arrest of all illegal immigrants who have arrived in our country, with a strong emphasis on those from Somalia, who have totally destroyed, with the approval of a corrupt governor, the great state of Minnesota.”
Earlier, South African tycoon Elon Musk offered to personally cover the salaries of TSA agents who are working without pay due to the partial government shutdown. “I would like to offer to pay the salaries of TSA staff during this financial stagnation that is negatively affecting the lives of so many Americans at airports across the country,” said the founder of
SpaceX.
Many TSA workers have yet to recover from the last two government shutdowns caused by Democrats, this being the third shutdown they have faced in the past 15 months.
