Volkswagen Trucks and Buses participated in the 91st Rural Expo of Río Cuarto, held last weekend in southern Córdoba. The German brand strengthened its ties with the agricultural sector by showcasing its product line for rural and industrial transportation. It was present alongside Corcam, its official dealer in the province.
La participación de Volkswagen Camiones y Buses reafirmó su compromiso con el campo argentino.
Visitors toured the stand where models were displayed, from the light Delivery 9.180 to the Meteor 28.460, the company's flagship extra heavy-duty truck. In addition, specialized technicians provided technical information to producers, transporters, and students. Key components such as the MAN D26 engine and the Traxon ZF gearbox were also exhibited.
"We are a full liner company: we cover from 9 to 33 metric tons (19,841 to 72,752 pounds) of gross vehicle weight," explained Pablo Carbone, technical after-sales advisor. Although the entire range was not displayed, the versatility of each model for different rural uses was highlighted. The Rural Expo served as an ideal platform to bring innovation to the productive heart of the country.

The most outstanding models of the fair
Among the main attractions was the Constellation 25.360, with a Cummins engine delivering 360 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque. The Constellation 17.280, with a MAN engine producing 275 horsepower, designed for versatile tasks within the agricultural sector, was also exhibited. The Meteor 28.460, with its MAN D26 engine delivering 460 horsepower and 2,300 Nm of torque, drew attention for its power.
The line-up was completed with the Delivery 9.180, a light model with a Cummins engine delivering 176 horsepower, ideal for urban deliveries and minor rural tasks. Corcam adopted an educational approach by introducing young people to the technology behind these vehicles. Students from technical schools in the region were able to interact with the engines and components on display.
Ariel Joaquín, general manager of Corcam, emphasized that large trucks today have configurations to transport up to 70 metric tons (154,324 pounds). "This fair is basically agro-industrial, and our products are designed for that segment," he highlighted. He also underscored the role of these events in the technical training of future operators.
Ariel Joaquín destacó que este tipo de eventos son clave para crear vínculos comerciales y posicionar la marca en el sector.
Domestic production and focus on the agricultural sector
Participation in Río Cuarto took place in a context of industrial growth for the brand in the country. Since May 2024, Volkswagen has produced in Córdoba five domestic versions of the Delivery, Constellation, and Volksbus models. In 2025, they had already reached the one-thousandth unit manufactured and are projecting 2,700 vehicles annually for 2026.
The local plant, located in the Córdoba Industrial Center, has an assembly line of 15,000 m² (161,458 square feet). The USD 300 million investment by the Volkswagen Group enables the company to offer competitive commercial conditions. Among them, Bancor financing for domestically manufactured products stands out.
This progress drives the development of local suppliers and job creation in the industrial sector. The commercial strategy is completed with an active presence at agricultural fairs such as Agroactiva, Expoagro, and the Rural Expo of Río Cuarto. There, direct contact with the agro-industrial public is promoted.

A strategic commitment to the agro-industrial sector
The participation of Volkswagen Trucks and Buses reaffirmed its commitment to the Argentine agricultural sector. The combination of local production, financing, and after-sales service meets the needs of the agro-industrial sector. The objective is clear: to offer reliable and efficient vehicles for every need of rural producers.
Ariel Joaquín highlighted that this type of event is key to creating business relationships and positioning the brand in the sector. "Relationships are built here, and the image of trust we seek to consolidate is strengthened," he stated. Proximity to the customer is one of the pillars of the German company's strategy.
With the successful experience of Brazil as a reference, Volkswagen seeks to consolidate its presence in the Argentine market. The exhibition in Río Cuarto served as a tangible demonstration of that plan. Technology, power, and after-sales support were put at the service of the country's economic engine: the agricultural sector.
“Esta feria es básicamente agroindustrial, y nuestros productos están pensados para ese segmento”, destacó Ariel Joaquin.
