The burglary at the home of Carolina "Pampita" Ardohain in Barrio Parque shook the Argentine entertainment world and put the Buenos Aires authorities on alert. Just a few days after the incident, the City Police managed to arrest eight people suspected of being part of an international gang dedicated to home burglaries, and during the raids, they found some of the model's belongings.
The operations were carried out in two apartments located in the Buenos Aires neighborhoods of Once and La Boca, where officers found a series of luxury items that Pampita has already identified as her own.
What items were recovered?
During the operation, which was shown in images on the Telenoche (eltrece) newscast, investigators seized:
Luxury brand handbags
Sunglasses
Designer watches
Los objetos recuperados por la policía
According to Horacio Giménez, City Security Minister, some of these items have already been identified by the host as part of her property. However, it is presumed that among the items found there could be belongings of other victims, since the gang is believed to have committed several burglaries simultaneously.
Despite these advances, Pampita's safe has not yet been located, and authorities are still working to determine its whereabouts. This item, which couldcost between 350 and 3,000 dollars depending on the model, contained some of the host's most valuable possessions.
How was the operation that ended with the arrests carried out?
The investigation progressed quickly after the burglary, which occurred between Friday night and early Saturday morning, taking advantage of the fact that Pampita was traveling in Spain.
Last Tuesday, the Police managed to arrest eight people linked to the incident: six Chilean nationals, one Colombian, and one Venezuelan. According to Giménez at a press conference, at the time of the raids the suspects tried to flee, but they were captured inside the raided properties.
"Upon entering the rooms, belongings that Ms. Pampita recognized as her own were found, including handbags, watches, and glasses. Therefore, the arrests were carried out with the approval of Dr. Godoy, the investigating judge handling the case," the minister reported.
