Within the framework of events that are generating concern in Middle East, the Argentine Foreign Ministry issued a series of recommendations aimed at Argentine citizens who reside in Iran and in other countries of the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported the measures through its official channels and stated that the diplomatic representations are maintaining permanent monitoring of the situation.

According to what the agency indicated, Argentine embassies in the Middle East are working in constant coordination with local authorities and with the Foreign Ministry in Buenos Aires, with the objective of assisting Argentine citizens in the face of possible contingencies arising from the regional context.

From Palacio San Martín, officials emphasized that Argentine diplomatic representations are closely following the evolution of events and are maintaining careful and continuous monitoring of the situation in each country. In that regard, they pointed out that governments and local authorities are the only official sources of announcements and provisions, so they recommended paying special attention to their statements.

The Foreign Ministry asked Argentines residing in Iran to comply at all times with the instructions issued by the country's authorities and to avoid disseminating or relying on unofficial information that circulates on social networks or other informal channels.

The main recommendations for Argentine citizens

Among the measures released, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested:

  • To stay informed through official statements from local authorities.
  • To remain alert to possible messages or alerts issued by Argentine embassies in the region.
  • To comply strictly with the security provisions in force in the country of residence.
  • To avoid situations or areas that could represent an unnecessary risk.
