In recent hours, Javier Frana announced the Argentine team that will face the first round of the 2026 Davis Cup Qualifiers against South Korea. The tie will be played on February 7 and 8 at Gijang Stadium in Busan, on a fast surface, and it will feature a renewed line-up made up of four debutants who are outside the ATP top 100.
The players drafted by the captain were Thiago Tirante, Marco Trungelliti, and Federico Gómez for the singles, along with doubles specialists Guido Andreozzi and Andrés Molteni. The choice was conditioned by the impossibility of calling up the main Argentine tennis players, who will be competing on the South American swing on those dates.

Frana explained the context in a video released on social media and pointed directly to the changes implemented by the ITF: "The ITF changes for this year have clearly harmed Argentine tennis because they are not compatible with the South American swing, depriving Davis Cup players of the chance to compete in Rosario and Buenos Aires and leaving them poorly prepared for the swing, which is vital for them because of the points at stake and the opportunities to play in their country", he stated.
