With a record attendance and a marked presence of national government officials, the 42nd Annual Congress of the Argentine Institute of Finance Executives (IAEF) once again positioned itself as one of the most influential events on the Argentine economic and political calendar.

More than 2,500 attendees, 150 accredited media outlets, and the participation of important figures from the public and private sectors consolidated the event as a key forum for discussing the country's economic direction.

In this edition, held under the theme "Transforming Argentina: from economic change to sustained development," La Derecha Diario was able to obtain exclusive testimonies from the Minister of Deregulation, Federico Sturzenegger; the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem; the Governor of Chubut, Ignacio "Nacho" Torres; and the economist Claudio Zuchovicki, among others.

Sturzenegger: "It's a unique opportunity for Argentina"

The Minister of Deregulation, Federico Sturzenegger, praised the event's framework and highlighted President Javier Milei's leadership in advancing reforms that for decades were considered untouchable:  "Javier looks at them and says to me, what is this? He tells me, that's it, you're not going to sleep without getting rid of this," Sturzenegger recounted, referring to the presidential push to eliminate obsolete regulations.

The minister also firmly supported Manuel Adorni's candidacy in Buenos Aires City: "Argentina is debating between two models. Kirchnerism, which is adjustment and death, and La Libertad Avanza, which is institutional, liberal, and prosperous."

Martín Menem: support for Adorni and defense of cutting the state advertising

The head of the Deputies also defended the official model and valued Karina Milei's leadership: "Political leadership belongs exclusively to Karina. We all work under her decisions."

He also referred to the elimination of state advertising: "The government has cut all types of advertising. That touches interests and generates criticism, but we will not return to that scheme."

Regarding the elections, Menem stated: "Manuel Adorni is the only one who represents President Milei in the City. We call on everyone to go vote on May 18."

Zuchovicki: "Change is permanent. Decisions must be made"

From the private sector, Claudio Zuchovicki provided a technical analysis of the lifting of the currency controls and the impact of changing expectations in the markets: "It was much more orderly than expected. They received more than 20 billion dollars, and that calmed expectations. Now we must compete by quantity, not by price."

The economist urged entrepreneurs to make investment decisions:  "They're letting you in at very low prices. It's time to have courage and bet on the country."

Torres: "Chubut shows that tax relief works"

The Governor of Chubut, Ignacio Torres, aligned himself with the national economic direction and shared the results of his fiscal policies: "We already have laws that promote tourism investment and the naval industry. When there is tax relief, investment, employment, and foreign exchange are caused."

He also called for political maturity: "Argentina can't be refounded every four years. We need state policies that transcend governments."

Mirazón: "This event is already a reference in economic policy"

The organizer of the Congress, Ezequiel Mirazón, highlighted the sustained growth of the event: "More than 2,500 people, 150 media outlets, legislators, governors, and ministers: we are very pleased with what we have achieved."

He also emphasized the IAEF's openness to all political forces: "We invite everyone, but some do not accept. Hopefully, they will join in future editions."
