Xiaomi AI Glasses: the new AI-powered glasses aiming to replace the cellphone
Xiaomi's new glasses feature AI, a camera, translation, and payments. Is this one more step toward saying goodbye to the smartphone?
Xiaomi unveiled its new augmented reality glasses with artificial intelligence, a development that could mark a turning point in the way we use technology.
This new device, based on its HyperOS system, was showcased during the Human x Car x Home event as part of the brand's 15th anniversary celebrations.

What's different about them?
The Xiaomi AI Glasses arrive with a renewed focus: integrating AI functions in a lightweight and comfortable format. Unlike previous models, these glasses not only display notifications, but interact with the environment.
They weigh just 40 grams (1.41 ounces) and come in a version with transparent temples that reveal the internal components, such as processors, cameras, and batteries.
Cameras, recording, and first-person video calls
One of the main attractions is its 12 MP camera with IMX681 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and image stabilization. It records 2K video at 30 fps and allows for video calls and live streaming.

The glasses allow users to record what they see, hands-free, and access features such as voice-command photos or real-time recording.
Translation, payments, and much more from the lens
The glasses can translate texts in real time, even on signs or books. It's also possible to make payments by scanning QR codes at stores, without needing to use a phone.

They also feature speakers that let users listen to music, make calls, or receive responses from the built-in artificial intelligence assistant.
Battery life and price
According to the brand, the Xiaomi AI Glasses offer up to 8.6 hours of battery life on a single charge. In China, the entry-level model costs 1,999 yuan.
For now, there's no official confirmation regarding their arrival in Argentina or other Spanish-speaking markets.
